Ellie's Surgery Costs (Fedorinchik Family)

My name is Darren, a friend of the family of Ellie Fedorinchik (Parents - Jason and Renee Fedorinchik). Recently an unfortunate and unexpected health issue took place with their furbaby.

On Sunday, January 8th, Ellie started to exhibit unusual symptoms including shaking and lethargy. By Monday, January 9th, Ellie was unable to use her back legs and was in agonizing pain. After two emergency visits, it was determined that Ellie had Stage 5 of 5 Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), a degenerative disease that affects the spinal cord and causes a range of painful mobility issues. On Wednesday, January 11th, Ellie underwent surgery to repair the disk. She is now back home with Jason and Renee as of Friday, January 13th.

Ellie's road to recovery will be long, but they are hopeful that she can regain function in her legs. They never thought anything could happen to such a perfect dog. Ellie is a sweet angel in every way; she's not afraid to cuddle with anyone or play with anyone, and she's always a fan favorite wherever she goes.

As you can imagine, this procedure was expensive. After the initial MRI, hospitalization, and surgery, the total cost was approximately $10,000. There will continue to be more expenses on her road to recovery including follow-up appointments, rehabilitation, supplies (i.e. pee pads because she is incontinent, baby wipes and medications), and more. We are asking for your help so that we can continue to give Ellie the care that she needs to make a full recovery.
