Ellie’s Omphalocele Journey

Donation protected

Omphalocele also called exomphalos, is a rare abdominal wall defect. An omphalocele
happens when the bowel,
liver and sometimes other organs remain outside the belly in a sac. Since some or all of the belly organs are outside of the body, they may be injured and the belly does not grow to its normal size. The belly may be too small to hold all of the organs.
Since an omphalocele is often associated with other birth defects, the prognosis depends on these other conditions.

Ellie may need more than one surgery to fix the omphalocele. A small omphalocele may be repaired soon after Ellie is born. Ellie may need to wait 1 year or more to have a large omphalocele fully repaired if her abdomen is not large enough. .

Hospital Cost are astronomical even with insurance. With Rick & Suzi  likely missing work, please know that the funds will be going towards their 2 older children while Suzi &Rick are away, as well as medical expenses for Ellie.

We are praying & believing for a healthy
pregnancy & for Ellie to arrive safely &
covered in prayer!! Please consider giving to this family as Ellie’s Omphalecele Journey
is beginning.
