Ellie’s Hike up Ben Nevis for the ICU

Hello! On the 5th October 2024 myself, Amelia and Hannah will be climbing Ben Nevis to raise money for the Intensive care unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. As some of you may know on June 4th this year my dad was admitted into the ICU at the royal berks where he was placed into an induced coma for 12 days. We were told that there was a high chance dad wouldn’t make it and to be prepared for the worst. Through the amazing work that the doctors and nurses did during his time at the ICU he was able to fight his illness and come out the other side! As a family we couldn’t have asked for him to have better care and treatment from his team and we will forever be grateful to them for making sure that we still have our dad. He is facing a long recovery process now but he will be okay.

I’ve decided to raise money to go towards the ICU so that other people like my dad will get the top help that they deserve. We owe so much to the amazing team there and would love to be able to give back as much as possible, any donation that you can make would go such a long way, if you’re unable to donate please consider sharing the page so that it reaches as many people possible.

DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER WARNINGS IN THE AREA WE HAVE HAD TO POSTPONE UNTIL IT IS SAFE TO CLIMB! IN PLACE OF THE HIKE I WILL BE WALKING ALONG THE RIVER THAMES STARTING IN Sonning AND ENDING IN Goring (13.3. miles). Thank you for understanding and we hope to raise just as much money regardless.
