Ellie McDyre needs our help. Her insurance has denied coverage for her upcoming gender affirming surgery, and the out of pocket cost is $15,000. We are asking you, her community and her friends, to help make it happen.

Anyone who has met Ellie knows her to be selfless and generous. She gives and gives and gives until her well is empty, and then she keeps digging. She has never asked anything in return. She has never asked for help. We, her best friends, are asking on her behalf.

Many of you know Ellie through Transmission, where she is part of the team that runs the space. Her work there is often invisible. She works in the office, but she also gets her hands dirty, making repairs, unclogging toilets, and doing whatever needs doing. She has endured sleepless nights, workplace injuries, and regular migraines. She lets very few people know how much she's hurting. She makes sure trans people can get into shows regardless of ability to pay, and provides many of us with well-paying jobs. She has been a driving force in making Transmission home to Hearthstone, a trans community kitchen that serves free meals, and to fundraisers for groups like SMYAL, Casa, and mutual aid funds around the world.

Ellie is our sister and the most important person in the world to us. Together, we can get her the surgery she needs and finally let her be the one who is taken care of.
Her surgery is scheduled for October 19th, so we have until then to raise the money. Anything beyond $15,000 will go toward aftercare, so she can rest comfortably while she recovers.

If Ellie has ever made your life better, whether through a show, a meal, a kind word, or a door held open, please give what you can and share this with others who feel the same.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Ellie, we love you so much.

With gratitude,

Sophie and Kelli
