UPDATE: Spoke with my parents tonight and they shared the first-hand account of the destruction this fire has caused. Now over 400 homes destroyed and 30k acres of Rocky Mountain National Park. Truly heart breaking. Please help as you can!The East Troublesome Fire has devastated Grand Lake and continues to threaten Granby, CO, Hot Sulphur Springs, and surrounding areas. The fire started on Wednesday, October 14th, and grew six times its size in 24 hours, engulfing more than 125,000 acres as of noon on Thursday. The speed, size, and location of the fire have forced evacuations and the closure of Rocky Mountain National Park and many surrounding roads. Several Grand County residents have lost their homes. Weather, terrain, and beetle-kill lodgepole pine have contributed to the growth of this fire, which has led to the East Troublesome Fire achieving the title of the fourth-largest wildfire in Colorado history.Luckily for my parents they were able to evacuate safely, but like so many of their neighbors they lost everything.  Ellie's Path was a footpath named after our late family hound dog that lead from my parent's cabin to a garden shed where they started their humble beginning there enjoying the mountains they love. This Go Fund Me is not for my parents, but for the Grand County community and for restoring the beautiful mountain experience that they and so many others have fallen in love. Please help. You can also donate at the Grand County Wildfire Emergency Fund.
