Many of you have been following sweet Ellie's story through Incredibullstella either on Facebook or Instagram.... she was a rescue from County West pound here in Phoenix AZ. She was on the E-list to be put down because she kept getting passed over for being shut down and terrified of everything and everyone. Though she came in as a stray and her past is not all known it is believed that she was severely abused. Marika, Brian her husband and their amazing pit Stella stepped up to the plate to foster her when no one would because no one wanted a project dog. Tonight Ellie went to a meet and greet and got spooked and scaled a 6ft wall and took off. Many people came together and helped us to find Ellie. However once we were able to get her she had been running for a good 2plus hours straight in this AZ heat and she went into a heat stroke. She was rushed to the emergency vet where they said her temp was 107... they stablelized her and was able to get her temp down some. She has mild blood clotting caused from the effects of heat stroke and may need plasma transfusions. Her paws are all ripped bloody and raw and she has bleeding from the neck and will need to be under care and surveillance for at least 72 hours. They said heat stroke in dogs is touch and go and can change at any minute. Since she is a foster and not yet adopted County most likely will not help cover such high vet costs and choose to put her down. So a deposit was put on a credit card to start helping her and we are trying to raise funds to cover her emergency vet bill to try and save this sweet girl. Any help is appreciated!
