Ellie update:

It’s been a while. We’ve been very busy since November 21st, 2024. The day Ellie had a seizure and it changed her life. I know I haven’t said much lately, but we still have no answers and Ellie is still a different child. We’ve been back and fourth to specialists every week since.

Last week I was told there is nothing else they can do for Ellie. It was a punch to the gut. We were offered to medicate her, where she wouldn’t even know she was in the world or they could get us in touch with end of life care. Not palliative care.

Of course, I declined both and held back the tears until I got on the elevator. I have gone non stop since November begging someone to help her, with no success. We are both worn out. I sulked in my feelings a little while, but I’m BACK.

We are technically starting over and the way we healed Ellie years ago was with alternate therapies. I have local people willing to help us figure Ellie out, but of course insurance does not cover this. We’ve been spending several hundred a week, but that’s dwindling down and we need our community to help us get Ellie into these places so she can heal once again.

I do have her in the works getting to Duke for a second opinion, but I can’t wait that long for them to also tell me the same outcome.

We are also trying to get Ellie to Texas for a surgery that would benefit her. I’m waiting to hear back from them, so I can send over her images and records. We will need help getting her there if she’s a candidate, but that’s something for another time. Right now, I’m focused on hitting what this is that’s stolen Ellie’s light and joy; as hard as we can. She won’t smile or laugh still. But, she’s in there ! We see her trying !

I absolutely HATE asking for help BUT I also can’t sit back and let my Ellie wither away. I know without a doubt she can turn the corner, we just need more support that I cant give her. So, I need y’all to help me help her These past two months have been so hard on me physically and mentally. It really took a toll on me. I’m over my feelings now and back at it. We aren’t giving up just because western medicine has ! Thank y’all so much !!
