Ellie Mae’s Medical Bills

Donation protected
On 3/25/2024, I got the phone call every pet owner prays they never get: you need to leave work. Ellie has been hit by a car.

Those of you that know me know that Ellie is my heart, my soul, my world. I’m doing everything I can to keep her out of pain, healthy, and here with us.

She’s had one surgery already to repair a large gash on her hip from where the car hit her. But Ellie’s medical journey is far from over. The car broke Ellie’s elbow, and it broke her elbow badly. If the orthopedic surgeon can’t fix it, she’s going to have to have her leg amputated. Due to a gash over her tail, she may be incontinent for the rest of her life.

The first day of vet care, which included x-rays, surgery, medication, and an overnight stay, cost $3,000 alone. Like I said, this journey is far from over. Any help is greatly appreciated.

03/26/2024 Update: Ellie came home from the vet hospital today. She’s on 4 medications, has two drains where her largest injury was, and her leg is in a make shift cast. We have an appointment tomorrow to check her stitches and the health of the skin that was impacted and to discuss the options for her leg. In 5 days, she’ll get her drains removed. In 14 days, she’ll get her stitches out (as long as her skin stays alive and healthy). I believe we are out of the worst of it, but my girl still has a long way to go. Thank you so much to everyone that has donated. It helps more than you will ever know.
