Help Elli, Alex and Baby Lucy

From Alex:
"Lucy Mae Saywers was born at 1:30pm on Wednesday 7-18-19. She weighed 10 pounds exactly and is 21 inches long. She has strawberry blonde hair, and to my biased eyes looks absolutely beautiful.
Elli is doing pretty good after a rockstar delivery, and help from an amazing team of doctors, nurses, and aids. I am truly awed by the miracle of birth and the sheer toughness of mothers.
Unfortunately though, baby Lucy is very sick.
She has something called pulmonary hypertension, so essentially her lungs aren’t making enough oxygen or getting the oxygen where it needs to go, along with some other complications from delivery. We thought it was due to her meconium (baby’s first poop) inhalation prior to delivery, but she continually got sicker. She had a really rough first day, with lots of close calls which was very scary for us. She is still in critical condition and under intensive care, but she seems to have turned a corner today after some big interventions from the NICU team, whose quick actions saved our daughter’s life. Our doctors think she will need at least a month’s time in the NICU though.
We really appreciate any thoughts or prayers you can send our way, and any privacy you can give us as we deal with this. We are so thankful for the love that has already been shown to our family as we figure this out."
We all know that Elli and Alex are strong and the bravery and grace they are showing through this experience is incredible. Many have reached out to ask how they can help in addition to thoughts, prayers and encouraging words. Your donation will help to alleviate a bit of the stress so that Elli and Alex can continue to take care of Lucy, as well as each other.
Thank you so much.
