Hi
My name is Eleanor Loder, I’m 16 years old and I'm from Pontypool South Wales, where I studied GCSE’s at West Monmouth Comprehensive School . I auditioned earlier in the year at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts in Hertfordshire and have been accepted onto the Musical Theatre and A Level course which started in September 2017. I was hoping that I could take a moment of your time to explain why this is so important to me and wondered if you could help me realise my dream in any way.
Since the age of three I have attended dance classes locally in Griffithstown with The Jacqui Everson Gemini School of Dance. I’ve worked extremely hard over the years and have been awarded distinctions in every Ballet exam I have taken. In the last few years I have also started assisting the younger children and help with the junior classes weekly under Mrs Everson’s supervision. I also attended Nidus Theatre Arts at the weekends and was a student there for over 6 years taking part in numerous productions. My involvement with Nidus has allowed me to perform and record with such artists as Bryn Terfel, Catrin Finch, Wynn Evans and Vangelis. I also like to perform in local talent contests and have progressed through to National Finals many times and this has given me the confidence and stage presence that I will need in my chosen profession. I also perform at Charity Events and local Care Homes.

My dream from a young age has always been to become a Musical Theatre performer and I have always worked very hard to get to the level that I am at now. I have attended Summer School at Tring Park on the week long Musical Theatre Course and since my first visit back in 2012 I have always dreamt of studying here when I leave school. Tring Park is one of the leading Performing Arts Colleges in the country and has an excellent reputation for producing great talent, some of which include Jane Seymour, Caroline Quentin, Thandie Newton , Ella Henderson and Daisy Ridley to name but a few.

I auditioned at Tring Park in November 2016 for a boarding place on the two year Musical Theatre Course. Places for the 6th form course are very limited with just 32 spaces available, with half of those going to boys and a large proportion being held for present students. Demand for a place at the School is extremely high with entry based on a rigorous audition process emphasising artistic talent and potential. I couldn’t have been more pleased when a week later I received a letter informing me that I had been offered a place on the September 2017 course and was even more excited to realise I had been offered a second audition for the chance of a scholarship. The scholarship audition went very well and the school have decreased my fees by a substantial amount. The cost of the two year course is still £17,500 so any help would be gratefully received.

Why Tring Park? Tring Park School for the Performing Arts offers an exceptional opportunity to young people who show an outstanding talent for the performing arts, while recognising the benefits of a fine academic education. It is one of a handful of residential and day schools in the UK that stand at the forefront of specialist education. I will receive a full and rounded education at A Level whilst also studying Musical Theatre. I am really excited and more importantly my parents are comfortable with me attending Tring Park as the strong academics alongside the vocational and boarding facilities make this a safe environment for me as I will only be 16. All of this is why Tring Park is so unique.
If you would like to help sponsor me or if you can offer any help or advice I would really appreciate it.
Many Thanks
Eleanor Loder
