Hello Everyone,
My family and I are writing to ask for your help. First, I would like to tell you about the amazing fighter my mother, Ellen Burke Wing, is and the fight that she has in front of her.
In 2006, at the age of 42, Ellen was diagnosed with Stage Il breast cancer. She took on that challenge head on, as she has every test and trial in her life. When the surgery was performed to removed both of her breast, the surgeon had discover what no scan could. That Ellen's cancer was rapidly spreading and that this double mastectomy was saving her life.
The recovery was slow but this past year we celebrated 7 years of recovery with our beautiful mother.
Last week during a scheduled colonoscopy several malignant polyps and a tumor were found. This news of course crushed our Mom and family. Facing cancer is no small physical or emotional feat but we know our Mom can win this fight, again.
We ask now for your help. In recent years my parents have been unable to afford Health insurance and since my parents live in a state were the governor declined the financial support of the federal government, my parents fell into, "the gap" of the Affordable Care Act in Maine.
So far, my mother has $5,000 of debt in medical bills. That isn't including the surgery to remove the cancer, possible treatment, travel cost and loss of income during treatment.
Everyone that has ever met my mother, Ellen, if she ever made you smile, was kind to you, let you into her home and fed you or hugged you. Maybe she coached you or gave you a ride home from practice. Maybe she was your teacher and she helped make school a little easier. Maybe you work with her or you knew her when you guys were kids. She is fighting her second battle with cancer and needs your help! Please donate.
Maybe you know my Dad, Dale, maybe you played on one of his team's, maybe he taught you something new about yourself, and was there for you. Donate for him.
Maybe, you know one of The Wing Girls, Bizzy, Lexi or me, Jenny. Maybe we made you laugh, or you have known us since we were little, maybe you don't know us that well but kinda know us. Donate.
I bet you have a parent and you love them. We want our Mom to be here with us for a long, long time. Donate for the love. For the fight. Be in our Moms corner with us!!
All, of the money from this campaign will go toward her fight to beat this cancer and keep her focused on healing.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, any and all support you maybe able to offer would be deeply appreciated.
With Love,
The Wing Family
