Hi, I’m Wally. This is our sweet Ella Rey (the pup on the right of the pic). She has been our fur baby since we brought her home at the sweet age of 4 months old. We found ourselves without a fur child after our last Boxer Ramey, and Ella stole our hearts. She has been such an important part of our family. She brings comfort when anxieties arise and fills our home with her funny antics and energy. She’s our hiking buddy, wiggle butt and soft comfort pillow any given day. We recently adopted Canelo to giver her a playmate, and they are inseparable. 

Our children have grown to love her as part of the family. They were truly devastated after our last boxer developed osteosarcoma (very aggressive bone cancer), which spread rapidly leaving us only a couple months with her. We were two years without a dog, when we finally felt ready to get another. Ella has filled that emptiness left behind, and is such a vital part of our family. She has gone through advanced training, earning two AKC certifications, and able to be a therapy or service dog. She is great at calmly comforting people while giving them that special attention to make people feel at ease. We just want her be around a little longer so she can continue to bring comfort to our family and others. She has been a mentor and big sister to our rescued Canelo, helping him also go through some advanced training. This is huge as Canelo came from a home with little to no structure, nor interaction with other dogs and now he is looking to follow in Ella’s footsteps. He has learned so much from her calm demeanor. Canelo will just wait by the door if we ever have to take Ella anywhere. I cannot think of a life without Ella, being as young as she is, and how devastating it would be to our family. 

Recently, we found a lump on her throat which turns out is a cancerous tumor and could spread if not removed. She is a young 4 years old so full of love and beautiful energy that brings joy to anyone she wiggles next to. This was an unexpected financial hit, and an emotional rollercoaster to us all. 

We are asking for your help to give Ella Rey a chance. Financially it’s a tough situation especially after being my wife just returned to teaching after summer break. Your help would help cover the surgery and follow up visits, and unfortunately our pet insurance doesn’t cover any of it.
