Ella's Gender Affirmation Surgery Fund

Hi my loves,

For those that know me, I’m not one to ask for much, but there comes a point in life where you need to surrender yourself to the cause and ask for help.  My role as a mother, sister, daughter, and community leader has taught me that people will help you if you let them.

If you don't know who I am, I am a performer, creative, community leader, and advocate in the space of (trans)gender rights and equity. I have been dedicated to this work for the past 10 years and am currently mother/leader of the kiki House of Alexander - home to 22 kids/members of queer and POC background & experience. 

For the longest time, I have been battling with body dysphoria and as a transgender woman - specifically of colour, the idea and reality of surgery has been this pipe dream. I’ve worked hard to save for other priority gender affirming surgeries and have been successful, but now my circumstances have changed and with the responsibilities of my community and with Covid's impact, the ability to achieve this next stage of my transition is proving impossible. This cycle can’t continue if I want to do something for me that is ultimately life saving. 

I am looking to raise $60k to have a suite of surgical procedures performed by leading international specialists, procedures including facial feminisation surgery and body-modifying procedures to help affirm the gender I am. This money will cover the cost of:

- Consultations (surgeons, doctors, anaesthetists, specialists)
- Surgery (theatre cost, surgeon, nurse, anaesthesia, and more)
- Recovery (lymphatic massage, remedial massage, medication, groceries)
- Travel (flights, accomodation, ground transport, insurance, visas)
- Incidentals + Mental/Holistic Care

With your help and assistance, I'll be able to have the necessary surgeries in becoming the woman I am as well as providing an additional layer of safety as a trans woman of colour navigating the world.
