Ella Strong, Kick Cancer's Ass!

Hello , My name is Melissa. A very special young lady to our family, My sons girlfriend, Ella was recently diagnosed with B cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This came as a huge surprise as she went for an x-ray of her shoulder that has been bothering her. Assuming it was an injury from playing soccer. That is when the mass was discovered.

Ella is going to college in Wisconsin. Avid soccer player, has an academic scholarship. Had just turned 19 July 7th, 10 days later she found out that she has Cancer. Ella will be missing going back to college for her sophomore year with her friends and soccer teammates. Instead of having a relaxing summer enjoying her freedom from school , she spent most of it going to doctor appointments and having tests performed.

Ella has a great support system in her family, her boyfriend and my family. Although My son headed back to college he will do his best to do what he can. Her parents also both working and will be taking days off work to be with her and take to and from her chemo appointments. Ella will be starting chemo within a couple weeks, more than likely followed by radiation.

Ella was recently told that chemo treatments and radiation will more than likely cause her to become infertile. Ella, like most young girls wants to have children someday. She will be meeting with a fertility doctor to hopefully have her eggs removed and stored. It is unknown if she will be able to conceive or carry a baby later on herself. Of course her options are considered elective and insurance will not cover the procedure , the storing of her eggs or other possibilities down the road.

This sweet young lady deserves the life she is dreaming of, If you can’t donate monetarily, please keep her in your prayers for a full recovery and bright happy future.
