I am dedicated to supporting this poor, community school in Ella, Sri Lanka which I visited last year and I’m asking my friends and family for just a small donation to kickstart my project.
As you may know, I am building a tree house in Ella and once completed in July, I will be donating a percentage of each rental booking towards the school. This will provide ongoing support for around 5 years.
In the meantime, I have been collecting your generous donations of simple stationary to take over with me in June. Thank you all so much. I now have as much as I can take in one trip. ❤️
I wrote to to the principal earlier in the year asking what he sees as the priorities for his school and how much each item might cost. Today I received his reply and am humbled to find how little it will cost to make such a huge difference to the lives of these terribly underprivileged children, many of whom are orphans and all of whom are incredibly poor, but with an infectious and positive spirit that stole my heart.
For example....
To repair/restore clean water supply $85
To provide 2 toilets each for girls
and boys $85 (the 300 odd students currently have 2 shared toilets for all students and staff and often they don’t flush)
To supply blackboards and a multimedia projector $300
To purchase musical instruments $35
and so on....
Please consider helping me improve the lives of these beautiful students and teachers by making just a small donation. This is a one off request, so that I can start to help immediately.
I have already asked family and close friends to make a donation in lieu of any birthday presents for myself this May. If you could make a contribution through this page, I would be so very grateful.
