My name is Tahia, and I am raising funds to support Ella and her family as they navigate an incredibly difficult medical journey.

Ella is a beautiful, brave little girl who is just over 18 months old. Since the beginning of her life, Ella has faced medical challenges that no child should ever have to endure. Despite everything, she continues to show incredible strength, determination, and resilience.

Early on, Ella was diagnosed with low muscle tone. As she grew, she began developing severe and extremely painful blistering and ulceration that first appeared in her mouth. Sadly, these blisters do not heal or go away — instead, they continue to spread across her lips, skin, and fingers, progressively damaging her tissue and causing constant pain.

The condition has become so severe that Ella struggles to smile, eat, and enjoy normal toddler experiences. The blistering is aggressive and ongoing, and despite being placed on multiple courses of antibiotics, the ulcers continue to spread. Doctors are still unable to determine what is causing this devastating condition, leaving Ella without the answers needed to properly treat or stop the disease.

Ella also suffers from severe hearing loss in her right ear and moderate hearing loss in her left ear. She is currently unable to undergo a cochlear implant for her right ear due to the ongoing ulceration and infection risks caused by her condition, which is another treatment currently on hold until doctors can safely manage her illness.

Ella previously relied on a feeding tube through her nose for 18 months before undergoing surgery to have a PEG feeding tube placed directly into her stomach. While this has given her a small amount of freedom and comfort, the PEG site frequently becomes infected due to her body’s inability to heal properly, creating constant medical complications.

Without a diagnosis, Ella cannot safely undergo other vital treatments and surgeries she urgently needs, including treatment for scoliosis. Finding answers is critical to stopping the progression of this disease and giving Ella the opportunity to heal and move forward with further medical care.

Ella’s mum, Nicola, is tirelessly advocating for her daughter and searching for answers while also caring for Ella’s older brother and managing the enormous emotional, physical, and financial toll that comes with ongoing complex medical care.

More than anything, we want Ella to have the chance to experience a happy and fulfilling childhood — to be able to play freely, smile without pain, eat comfortably, and live without constant risk of infection from everyday childhood activities. Ella deserves the opportunity to live a life full of joy, comfort, and possibilities.
