ALL HANDS! JCMC EMS 10-2!

Donation protected

We run to the aide of others all the time. We don't think twice to help someone else out in need. Its not what we do but who we are. We are surrounded with the misfortunes of others day in and day out and yet we seem to develop the complacent mentality that it could never happen to us. We tend to forget we are human just like the people we help each day and are not immune to tragedy ourselves. When the public needs help they call on us but when we need help who do we call on?

We call on US!! When one hurts we all hurt. We are 911 for each other and one of our own needs our help.

Jersey City Medical Center Paramedic/AFTO Sabreen Elkomey and her family need our help. Paramedic/AFTO Elkomey and her family suffered a terrible tragedy when their house burned to the ground on 02/12/2016. Everything is gone. Their home was demolished this morning with all of their belongings lost.

This hits home. Paramedic/AFTO Elkomey is a life-long Jersey City resident and dedicates countless hours to community outreach and service in addition to putting her health and life on the line each day she puts on her uniform and comes to work.

At Jersey City Medical Center EMS a "10-2" is transmitted when an EMT or Paramedic needs emergency assistance. We are transmitting a 10-2 as one of our own needs OUR emergency assistance. The proceeds raised here will go to the family of Paramedic/AFTO Elkomey to aide them during this difficult time in their lives.

Any donation regardless of the amount is appreciated. As emergency responders we have a duty to serve the public. This is an unconditional aspect of our job. Yet as responders we must remember we have an obligation to EACH OTHER!!! This is the undisputed part of our jobs.

Whether you ventilate a  patient in the back of an ambulance, respond to a shots fired car in the front of a police car, or climb into a burning building from the top of a fire truck ladder WE ARE ONE FAMILY!

A 10-2 has been transmitted for Paramedic/AFTO Elkomey and her family.

Answer that call.
