Help Fund the Elk Valley Regional Land Trust

Preserving access to the lands of the Elk Valley for the recreational and economic benefit of residents and visitors through the purchase and conservation of privately owned lands throughout the Elk Valley.

The EVRLT will give equal priority to:

  >>> recreation,

  >>> sustainable tree harvesting, and;

   >>>restoration.

It will be a challenging balancing act, well worth the juggle. Local citizens and organizations will, at last, be involved in decision-making. Help shape the future of the habitat that is their home.

The EVRLT will implement sustainable practices and responsible timber harvesting. Reforestation will help restore the scenic backdrop that makes the Elk Valley such a special place for residents and visitors alike. Watershed restoration is another necessary step, a life-line for many at-risk and endangered species. 

Additionally, a Community Forest is a unique opportunity to create permanent, multi-use recreational trail networks. The trails will boost the valley’s tourism economy. They will also enhance the outdoor life of residents.

A Community Forest is a practical, realistic, hopeful step in a positive direction.
