Eliza’s story: Help her family stay together
Donation protected
I am raising money for a new and dear friend, Eliza. I got to know Eliza through Atticus who befriends everyone he comes in contact with. One afternoon while walking through our neighborhood, we stopped to play on a little wooden bridge overlooking Eubanks Creek where we met Eliza and her two children, Elizabeth (3months) and Emanuel (4). Atticus and Emanuel immediately bonded over throwing rocks, sticks, and leaves into the creek together while Eliza and I bonded over our shared experiences as new ish mothers of two little ones. We met a few times over the next week on walks in the neighborhood and at the park. It seemed our daily routines kept aligning. Soon, we were planning and getting together for play dates for the kids.
Eliza and her husband, Joshua, met in Latvia, a small country in Europe right below Russia that is mostly winter all year round. At the time, Joshua was there working as a missionary from the US and Eliza was a citizen of Latvia who had recently given herself over to God. They quickly fell in love after meeting, got married, and had their first child, Emanuel, in Latvia. Shortly after, they felt called to the states to serve the African American community. About two years ago, they found themselves in Jackson, MS where they started an outdoor church on the streets in North West Jackson, one of the most crime ridden and brokenhearted populations in MS and maybe even the country. Joshua preaches Gods word through a microphone and two large speakers to a parking lot of people who wander up mostly out of curiosity for the ruckus and are met with Gods love. Eliza and her husband have tremendous faith! They have given up everything to spread God’s word to people who in desperate need of healing.
Currently, Eliza and Emanuel are in the process of obtaining US citizenships and they are facing the harsh reality of possibly being deported and having their family torn apart. The next step in the process consists of attending a meeting in DC in just one week and they are struggling to finance the trip. I am writing to ask you to consider contributing in order to help fund their trip and help this sweet family stay together and continue their mission.
Anything helps! ❤️
