Eliza's Heart Surgery

My name is Ana, I’m Eliza’s aunt, and appreciate you taking the time to read about Eliza’s story and contribute to her cause.

Eliza is a bright and joyful 5 year old who recently underwent open heart surgery. She was born with a congenital heart defect called ASD and this surgery was needed to close the hole that was in her heart. Her surgery went rather well, thank God, and she’s now recovering at home. Her mom, Blanca, is my sister and she’s currently on unpaid leave from work for the next 6 weeks in order to take care of Eliza during her immediate recovery period. Eliza’s full recovery will be at least 6 months long and will require for her to continuously see a specialist to ensure her heart is healing properly.

As you can imagine, a surgery of this kind and the ongoing care needed is very expensive. This GoFundMe has been created to help pay for the cost of the surgery itself, the hospital stay, and the ongoing specialist appointments needed. No donation is too small, every bit helps and will be received with a grateful heart.

Eliza es una niña de 5 años que es brillante y alegre, y recientemente tuvo cirugía a corazón abierto. Ella nació con un defecto cardíaco congénito llamado DSA y esta cirugía fue necesaria para cerrar el agujero que tenía en su corazón. Su cirugía salió bastante bien gracias a Dios y ahora se recupera en casa. Su mamá, Blanca, es mi hermana y ella estará sin trabajar (sin paga) durante las próximas 6 semanas para cuidar a Eliza durante su período de recuperación inmediata. La recuperación completa de Eliza durará al menos 6 meses y requerirá que consulte continuamente a un especialista para asegurarse de que su corazón esté sanando adecuadamente.

Como pueden imaginar, una cirugía de este tipo y los cuidados necesarios son muy caros. Este GoFundMe se creó para ayudar a pagar el costo de la cirugía, la estadía en el hospital y las citas continuas con especialistas.
