Eliza-mae's headstone

It was widely suggested by multiple people to create a just giving page or a go fund me, in honour of Eliza.

Eliza was born at 26 weeks and 6 days of my pregnancy on the 4th of July 2019 Eliza was born extremely prematurely

through no fault of her own. During my pregnancy her father gave me multiple infections which caused my amniotic fluid to begin leaking at 18 weeks.

Despite the maternity units best efforts, there was not much that could be done, from 20 weeks Eliza had roughly 10-20% of the amniotic fluid around her that she should have, causing her lungs and several other organs to not develop as they should have. At 26+5 the rest of my waters broke and I was in premature labour, but the doctor in the delivery unit did not believe I was in labour despite myself and several other midwives telling her l was. After an unmedicated, breach labour for over 13 hours, Eliza was finally born in a toilet.

At birth she had to be rescusitated 4 times before she could be transfered to the nicu, Eliza fought her hardest for 58 hours until she was in extreme pain. She was in renal failure, her lungs had burst, she had a brain bleed taking over 60% of the space of her brain which was described by the neonatal doctors as an " adult sized migraine " and no pain relief was helping.

At that point, despite my wants and hopes she would pull through, we were told she was going to pass soon. As her mother I made the choice for it to be in my arms, where she was loved and comfortable. At 7pm on the 6th of July 2019, Eliza was declared passed away.

Nearly 6 years on Eliza still has no final headstone, despite my best attempts on my own it just is not feesable to save the amounts that are needed for her headstone. As her mother, this does cause me a lot of guilt knowing she still is not finally laid at peace and can go un-disturbed. Elizas paternal side are no help, they have never offered any assistance with the costs for her to finally be at peace.

I'm hoping through friends and family, I am able to finally allow Eliza to be at peace. Any donations are appreciated no matter how small, even £1 helps get us one step further to allowing her to be at peace ❤️
