My name is Elizabeth and I desperately want to see again. After developing a serious neurological condition last year, I lost my vision, but I am not going to let that slow me down. I need your help in raising $25,000 to pay for a NIH sponsored trial that will help me to regain my sight and see my loved ones again.

CLINICAL STUDY INFO: The loss of vision experienced from retinal or optic nerve damage may be progressive and have a devastating impact on one's ability to live a full life. Fortunately, treatment with bone marrow derived stem cells may hold the key to reversing blindness and restoring vision. The Stem Cell Ophthalmology Treatment Study (SCOTS), run by Dr. Steven Levy in Connecticut, is an open label, non-randomized efficacy study using bone marrow derived stems cells to attempt to reverse vision loss. SCOTS is focused on ocular tissue that has sustained damage and its potential for improvement. This study has different treatment arms and the principle investigator (Dr. Jeffrey Weiss, retinal surgeon and physician) assigns patients to the arm that will minimize risk and maximize potential benefit. We hope that with the treatment provided during enrollment in SCOTS, the majority of participants will have improved vision.
