"If not you, then who?" That's how my uncle responded to me when I complained about my dish-washing job when I was 14. I often see fundraisers and I say a quick little prayer, wish the people success, but I never donate. I always relied on other people to do it for the campaign to be successful. But, maybe that one extra dollar I had in my account really could have helped someone.
I have Fibromyalgia that is so debilitating that I sometimes can't move or walk. I'm a passionate fisherman (fished alongside my commercial fisherman grandfather at his knee) and I can't even do that anymore. I am single and have three children and "Disability" is taking forever and a day. I have tried to apply for a Mortgage Modification and lost my job and the bank declined my offer from "Hardest Hit." I've emailed our Governor, Mr. Scott, straight to Obama. None of these programs are helping my children and I keep our home. The system I have paid into since I was 14 is completely FAILING to help us when we need it. I filed for Chapter 7 to buy more time for us to figure out how to keep the house. We only have a couple of months at this point. Someone on Facebook told me to try this, so I am. It's up to me to make it happen and I am relying on you (yes, YOU) to help. Rise to the occassion and stick it to the man! Raise the people's army, my brothers and sisters!
Believe me, I would much rather work than have to "beg" or ask for money. I have been working since I was 10 as a babysitter or mother's helper and hadn't stopped until now because I HAVE to. I am ashamed to have to ask for help as I am always one to be independent and do it on my own.
I'm asking that you don't assume anyone else will help. Even if it's only a dollar or a penny you can afford, it will add up if everyone (YOU) pitches in. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this. Blessings to you. I'm not going out without a fight, my friends...
"If not you, then who?"
Sincerely,
Elizabeth, Leah, Dylan, Simone, & Striper (the cat)
