Elizabeth's Urgent Need for Safe and Reliable Transportation

Updated: $1200 is the new goal. I have found a car locally that is older and seems well maintained. It’s also a reasonable price. If you’re able to help thank you so much.

I’m Elizabeth and I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this again, but here I am—swallowing my pride and reaching out. I literally don’t know what else to do.

In early 2024, I bought a van that I hoped would last, but unfortunately, it gave out by the end of the year. Since then, I’ve spent a lot of money on car rentals and trying to repair my van, only to be told—after sinking a good amount into it—that it just wasn’t reasonably repairable.

Recently, I’ve been using a temporary vehicle, but it’s on the verge of breaking down. It makes loud rattling noises—like a hemi truck and worse, though it’s definitely not one—and metal was found in the oil from bearing starting to unravel. I’ve been told the engine is giving out, and I’m only driving it when absolutely necessary. It’s not going to last much longer, and it’s becoming unsafe. I’m truly at a critical point. Update: it was broken down completely. Like a blown motor.

This situation is especially hard because I have children, and this isn’t just about me—it’s about their safety. They deserve reliable transportation for school, appointments, emergencies, and everyday life. Right now, I’m doing everything I can, but without a safe car, it’s getting harder to keep up with even the basics.

I’m raising $8,000 to either:

• Purchase a safe, reliable used car outright, or

• Make a strong down payment through a dealership to reduce monthly costs.

If only part of the goal is raised, it will go toward a down payment. If the full amount (or more) is reached, I’ll be able to buy a dependable car outright and avoid taking on a monthly financial burden.

Or I am looking for a co-signer if financing is the best option to help with lower down payment at a dealership.

In return for your support, I’m more than happy to give back however I can. I can clean, babysit, run errands—whatever I can do to show my appreciation.

Also—if you’re a mechanic or know someone who might be willing to take a look at the vehicle I’m driving now, I’d be grateful. I’ve been told it’s near the end, but if there’s any way to safely extend its life even a little, I’m open. (Video posted of noise it makes)
