Elizabeth's Brain Surgery

Hi, my name's Sherry. I am Elizabeth's Mom. I'm reaching out on her behalf while I am sitting in the surgical waiting room..waiting.. while Elizabeth undergoes 2 surgical procedures, one after the other, to remove areas of her brain that are causing massive seizures.

 As I am writing this Drs are removing 2 aneurysms, a calcification, as well as an area of malformed arteries and veins. Like a tangled garden hose. But one that seriously affects her quality of life and impacts her life expectancy. Part of her right temporal lobe, her entire right hippocampus and part of her amygdala are being removed. The hope is to end these seizures or at least reduce them significantly. 8 years of tests, stress and "It's all in your head" have lead to this day.

  Liz is  a Warrior at 27 year old. Mother of 3 girls, who she Lives for, a kind, "old soul " who gives so much to family, friends and her community. Always fighting for everyone else.

And now she needs people to fight with her.

   As a parent, sitting here I feel so

helpless. I wish I could take it all away. But I can't. What I can do is help and support her, her partner and her girls.

Her recovery will be a journey. Her Drs say one of her biggest triggers is stress which in the past has severely affected her seizures. I am hoping to help decrease that stress and help her family with emotional and financial support while she recovers. 

Her partner, Carl, has been taking time away from work to care for her and the girls while heading toward this surgery. He will remain home to support Elizabeth and the girls. Their youngest just turned 4. She will be away from home for at least a month and aiming to be home by Christmas.

   This fundraiser is to help manage medical expenses and house hold bills so they can focus on her healing journey.
