Elizabeth has been diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma. Usually this type of cancer is more easily treated and cured but the involvement in her throat, neck and lungs and the stage 4 designation will require more and longer chemotherapy. Elizabeth's family is on an emotional roller coaster as well as financially challenged as 'after insurance' medical bills are stacking up in the thousands.
Elizabeth's mom Julie, is a single mother of 3 beautiful daughters and is the main caregiver. Julie is a trained Special Ed teacher, but is fighting her own severe health challenges and is currently unable to work because of them. She is trying to be independent physically and financially, and at the same time always trying to help others. The financial challenge could cause her to sink under the burden.
Elizabeth's dad, David, though divorced from her mom, tries to stay involved but has another family that taps his limited resources.
Elizabeth has already had two surgeries, bone marrow biopsies, PET Scans, multiple MRI's, X-rays, blood tests, and NOW the chemotherapy is to start November 19th. It is expected to last at least through the school year, if everything goes perfectly. If not, then treatments will be much longer. The medical bills are already piling up and they're staggering. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will help cover these bills. The Ssejinja family has expressed their love and appreciation for any and all help.
