Hey everyone , We are starting this go fund me in the hope our local community Narrandera, can show support for our parents, Elizabeth & Darren Mohr. If you know them , you would know they will help anyone they possibly can.
On Monday the 1st of December -Elizabeth, after a dose of antibiotics started to have pains spreading throughout her body and started to develop a rash .
Tuesday 2nd of December-Mum’s rash had spread overnight , her face swollen and her feeling unwell . Her children drove her to Narrandera hospital, she was given a drip and was told it could be a reaction from the antibiotics she was taking for her tooth she was given antihistamines to treat rash, a new antibiotic and sent home.
Wednesday 3rd of December- The rash became more aggressive as well as the swelling and redness . Another trip to the emergency department at Narrandera hospital . This time a steroid tablet and antihistamines and sent on her way. The doctor on call at the hospital, joked and called our mother a mystery patient, he had also been the same doctor from the previous trips.
4th December Thursday- Mum was still not responding to any of the treatments and recommended course of action . She was shivering and shaking with no fever . Straight back to Narrandera hospital, Narrandera decided to send her to Wagga base via ambulance for testing as she was not in a good way . After an over night stay at Wagga base mum was air lifted to Sydney to be treated as a burns victim. Turns out the rash was burning her body from the inside out .
Since being in the burns unit in Sydney , mum has been placed in the ICU. Elizabeth is a devoting mother of ten, grand mother of a four, plus cares for her bonus children and grand children.
Darren is a truck driver for a local transport company which he has worked at for many decades. He is the main income support for our family. Dad has had to take time off during this busy harvest season to support his family and Elizabeth in Sydney.
This was very unexpected , taking antibiotics is common practice but unfortunately mums reaction is rare and has severely burnt her body. Out of respect we will not post pictures of mums current state.
Bills don’t wait even if something bad happens, unfortunately this is why are reaching out for support. Mums hospital stay is expected to be a long one, so it means our mum while be in hospital over Christmas .
This time of year is hard for everyone , we really appreciate the support and kind words ,
