Elizabeth Miranda Brain Surgery Recovery
On Tuesday December 3rd while at Sentara Bayside ER we found through diagnostic testing that Liz had a mass roughly the size of a tennis ball.
Prior to this she had made two visits to urgent careand ER with headache, nausea, vomiting, stiff neck where a diagnosis of Viral Meningitis was given based on those symptoms and was sent home with basic migraine medications.
On Monday December 2nd she went to her sons basketball practice and while there we recognized that her speech was slowed, slurred, and finding words was difficult.
We later found the reason through a CT scan during our visit to Bayside. From there she was rushed by ambulance to Sentara Virginia Beach General forfurther testing as requested by the neurological unit after a consult.
Surgery is taking place Friday December 6 and although we expect a full and healthy recovery this situation doesn’t come without normal daily challenges.
As you know, Liz works in the food industry and will be missing several weeks of work to focus on recovery. Since this is her only source of income we can all appreciate the struggle she will face in the upcoming weeks. We don’t want Liz to be stressed out about finances at a time when she needs to be focused on recovery and spending time with family.
We would love to show Liz how much love and support she has by helping her during this unexpected season of life. She has always been there for us, and now we can truly show up for her.
Any help is so greatly appreciated.
