My name is Crystal Burruel, and my sister Elizabeth Burruel just recently passed. We are unsure of the cause of death, as it happened in the middle of the night while she was sleeping. Our first thought being it was a seizure. A condition she suffered from for quite some time. For those of you who don't know our family, she had just recently survived what we call somewhat of a miracle. She had taken the steps to have a better future and "reset" herself. the facility she was admitted too refused her medical attention for not only her seizures, in which they refused her medication, but also her ability to breathe. For three days, she begged the staff to take her to the hospital , that she was unable to breathe. They still denied her medical treatment, explaining that she would have a personal medical staff come and observe her, but they failed to respond, and she was left until her roommate demanded that she be taken to the er. The staff then found her crawling on the floor, or as they would say it, "displaying odd behavior" , and she was then rushed to northwest hospital. When she arrived, her oxygen levels were at 44! She was then admitted. A week later, she was intubated, and we had no idea what would come after that. The very next day, she was extubated, and we got more time with her. However, she never fully recovered from the pneumonia that had settled in her lungs. She was released from the hospital on Thanksgiving eve, and was able to have her last holidays at home with her family. She was sent home with oxygen, and never got her levels back over a 94. How she was still alive from oxygen levels as low as 44 remains unknown. But she did it. She was robbed of her life. She was making plans to rebuild her life, and was actually walking around with a smile that was genuine, something we hadn't seen in a long time. My sister was the kindest person you would have ever met. She would repay bad treatment with kindness. She always new how to make you smile. She was very spiritual and in touch with the universe. Her art work was amazing, and her music defined her. She is dearly missed. We are still in shock. A huge piece of our heart has been taken with her, a void that will never be filled. Please help with any donations to help celebrate her end of life. Any amount helps, and we will never forget it!!! We are also having a carwash to help raise money on Saturday February 3rd. I will update with the location as we haven't decided yet. Thank you
