Elizabeth "Lizzie" Smith
Donation protected
Family and friends,
Tina and I are deeply saddened and irrevocably heartbroken to announce that our sweet girl, Lizzie, passed away on Monday, 4/26, at the age of 34. As many of you know, she has been battling her medical issues and has had more and more hospital visits recently. Lizzie was so strong and such a fighter until her little body couldn't fight anymore.
Most of you know that Disney's The Little Mermaid was her absolute favorite of all time! When she was little we would watch the VHS tape of the movie over and over again. Even as an adult, she loved anything mermaid themed. Liz would have been celebrating her 35th year in June and wanted to be able to see the live-action version of The Little Mermaid in May.
We wouldn't normally ask for donations but I (Chris) was laid off from my job at the beginning of March of this year. Both Tina and I were originally hurt and upset about that life event, however, are now so, so grateful. I have been so incredibly lucky and thankful that I have been able to care for and spend every day with Liz. Please know that all donations would be used for funeral and burial expenses. We are not looking to monetize from this at all. Anything above what we may need will be donated to one of three charities: The ARC of San Antonio which proved services to Lizzie, or CAMP. Liz spent a few summers with them. Or the Cerebral Palsy Research Network.
Absolutely no pressure to donate to the gofundme. However, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of the above charities in Lizzie's name. To those that have already sent flowers and food, we thank you so much. Having the love and support from our friends and family is what will get us through this difficult time.
Thank you,
Chris & Tina
