The newly illumined servant of God, my mother, Elizabeth, is hours away from falling asleep in the Lord. Her death has approached quickly. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

Diakonissa Pat and I hope that our Lord's Nativity has brought increased strength and hope into your hearts. We don't typically make requests like this, but since it is our goddaughter's family, we are asking for your prayers and, if possible, your assistance.

Our goddaughter, Anastasia Moxon, who many of you know through her participation in our Holy Apostles community and her role as communications coordinator, is preparing for her mother's repose in the Lord. Her mother, Elizabeth, was recently chrismated as an Orthodox Christian and was placed in hospice care three days ago. We are close to the situation and know, firsthand, both that her death is imminent and that Anastasia's family has very limited financial resources to provide a very simple funeral and burial at the St. Savas monastery cemetery. Anastasia has set up a GoFundMe page, and D. Pat and I have contributed.
