A fighter, brave, forgiving, strong woman; Grandmother, sister, and wife, all words that describe our Mother. At 10 years old our Mother had to fight to survive in Cambodia during the Khmer Genocide carrying her brother all the way through land mines where people just 10 feet away from her lost their lives. She never gave up, she kept on fighting until she got to the USA where she made her family and took care of them through all adversity. Our mother never gave up on anyone, don’t give up on her.

On October 13, 2023, we got a call that would break our hearts forever. Our dearest mother, Elizabeth Corona Yom’s heart stopped during her dialysis session. Nurses began to resuscitate her and the paramedics continued while transferring her to the hospital. After the long battle, they finally were able to get her heart beating again after 30 mins, which felt like an eternity. Sunday, October 15, 2023- the fight isn’t over. Our mother’s heart stopped beating again 4 times within 24 hours. She goes into an emergency heart surgery and doctors notify us to come say our last goodbyes in case she wouldn’t pull through the surgery. Our family anxiously waits way past visiting hours, in the waiting room, praying she makes it through. Sitting there waiting with loved ones felt like we were on an emotional roller coaster hoping for the best and we were cushioned by the love and support we had from one another. While talking about the good times with our mother, the phone rings. It’s the surgeon who announces that our mother made it through. Everyone began crying tears of joy thanking God. ❤️ However, the battle’s have been won but the war isn’t over. Today October 21, 2023. Our dearest mother has still not woken. The Doctor’s sadly told us that she has severe brain damage. The doctor’s also informed us that she may never wake up.

We are asking for your help from the bottom of our hearts to help pay for part of our mother’s medical bills. As you may know, being hospitalized can cost a fortune and unfortunately we cannot cover all of it on our own. Any donation made, big or small is greatly appreciated. If you cannot donate, it is okay, just please keep our mother, Elizabeth Corona Yom, in your prayers. ❤️
