As you may know, Liz has been courageously battling cystic fibrosis (CF) her entire life. This past year has been particularly challenging in managing her health.
On Wednesday, Sept. 23, Liz went into cardiac arrest while at NY Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She was already at the hospital for a fairly routine course of treatment and fortunately was able to be quickly transferred to the neuro ICU unit where she is now receiving care.
The family has limited information at this point about what caused the cardiac arrest. Liz is currently unconscious and is awaiting further neuro testing for more concrete information about her prognosis. Sam, Sarah and John have been traveling to NYC to be by her side every minute they can be. Due to COVID-19 precautions, the hospital only allows two visitors per day and only one visitor a time in Liz's room.
Liz's family is staying at the Hyatt Place in Fort Lee, New Jersey. You can direct cards or other well wishes there. The last thing we want the family to worry about right now is expenses for traveling to and from New York City as well as food and lodging. We want them to be able to focus on giving Liz good energy and being present for her and her care team while she is in the hospital.
Please do not feel any pressure to donate money. Your love, support and prayers are enough. What we really need is for Liz to get through this. Thank you!
