Eliza & Poppy’s Kilimanjaro Climb - St Columba’s
‼️‼️UPDATE: grand total at £6,680‼️‼️
(some donations have gone directly to the charity, not through the GoFundMe Page)
To read more about why we’re fundraising, I’m sharing a short story I wrote. Give it a read if you have a moment:

Dear all,
Poppy Pratt and I have decided to take on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu route on the 4th October 2022.
At the moment, we are at the amateur grand total of Poppy’s walk to Rome trip and my own climbing of Scafell Pike - twice. How hard can it be?!
In all seriousness, though, we’re breaking in our new walking boots to take on the climb which will be both a challenge and achievement. We are raising money for St Columba’s Hospice in the hope that any funds raised will have a huge and beneficial impact on the patients there.
As some of you may know, St Columba’s Hospice and its work played a huge part in Mum’s final days, looking after both her and us, too. As a family, we have continued to raise as much money as we can for those with terminal illnesses who, like Mum, will spend their final days at the Hospice under formidable care and compassion.
We have tried to set our fundraising target as close to the mountain as possible, and therefore we have set our minimum target as £5,895 which is the height of Kili in metres. Dad has sponsored myself and Pops to take a James Jones & Sons flag up to the top, so I’m sure we could find space for any other corporate sponsors / flags…!
And so, we hope that with our motivation to help St Columba’s, and any support we can raise, we will be at the summit of Uhuru Peak - hopefully with minimal altitude sickness and hallucinations!
With love and thanks,
Eliza and Poppy xxx
