I have arrived safely in India. Thanks to the incredible generosity and support from so many of you, I was able to get here sooner to begin treatment to save my liver — with the next step being to tackle the cancer itself.

The journey over was an emotional one. I cried for much of the flight, carrying the heaviness of leaving Tony and the kids behind. Saying goodbye was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but I know it was necessary for this chance at more time with them.

Since arriving, everyone here has been unbelievably kind. I’ve already had blood tests done, met with the head doctor at the clinic, and discussed the scans that are needed and the treatment plan that will begin while we wait for my genetic testing results. It’s a lot to take in and feels overwhelming at times, but I truly believe I am in the right place.

For the first time in a long while, I feel hopeful. I honestly believe this is my best chance at a longer life, and I am so deeply grateful to every single person who has helped make this possible. ❤️

**** ELISSAS STORY ****

Elissa is a deeply loved daughter, friend and mum who is facing the fight of her life with stage 4 cancer. She has shown incredible courage, strength and grace throughout her journey, and now has the opportunity to access a special treatment in India that offers renewed hope.

Elissa was first diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer in 2022, with the disease already spread to her liver and ovaries. She faced chemotherapy, radiation and major surgery with remarkable bravery, and for a short time, she was thankfully declared cancer-free.

Just six months later, the cancer returned and had also spread to her uterus. Elissa began chemotherapy and immunotherapy in hopes of shrinking the tumours enough to qualify for further surgery, but the cancer did not respond, and surgery was no longer an option.

She then underwent another intensive course of chemotherapy combined with radiation in a final attempt to move forward with surgery. Tragically, her most recent scans have shown further progression, with the cancer now spread to her peritoneal area and lungs, and she has now been deemed inoperable.

Her friends Julie, Alex and Lisa are fundraising to help ease the overwhelming financial burden of this treatment in India, along with travel and associated medical costs. Every dollar raised will go directly toward giving Elissa the best possible chance and allowing her to focus on what truly matters — healing, hope and time with the people she loves.
