Elise's Summer Education

Elise works hard and always strives to be the best. She certainly does not settle. She is ambitious and driven and that drive has led her to be selected for the John Hopkin's National Youth Leadership Forum for Advanced Medicine Click here for program details .

She was nominated by her school counselor and accepted into the program. If able to attend, Elise will spend 10 days at the renowned Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and have the opportunity to experience a variety of specialized medical fields through the program’s exciting, hands-on interactive curriculum, small group activities, and true-to-life medical workshops. Through this experience she will get to learn from and interact with subject matter experts, gain invaluable hands-on experience by assuming the role of a physician, and be empowered to fully realize her potential. Elise has set her sights on becoming an anesthesiologist.

She currently volunteers at twice a week at Baptist Hospital in Miami. She is a Bernadette Scholar at her school, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, putting her in the top percentage of her class. She maintains a 4.67 GPA and earned the 2nd highest PSAT score in her class. She also plays JV and club volleyball as a setter. Unfortunately, as her mom I am stretched having to pay for her tuition and after school activities and have two other girls that are also straight A students following in her footsteps... It is a struggle to provide these opportunities for them when I am already stretched so thin.

I ask you to help Elise in participating in this program, and reward her focus, drive and dedication. She also has the opportunity to earn college credit. We're asking to help with expenses, relating to transportation, tuition, and board. Every little bit helps.
