Elise Lost Everything in a Fire
Donation protected
Hello friends!
Please share this far and wide as mutual aid is one of the best ways we can build community. Our dear friend Elise Kolmer’s childhood home burned down in Virginia Beach last night.
Thankfully, she and Harley (her precious dog) got out without being physically harmed, but it was extremely traumatic for them both. Elise is currently finishing her second BS at ODU in Psychology while also working on her prerequisites for MSN at TCC.
In the fire, she lost her laptop for school, her car keys, all of her clothes, her toiletries, and trinkets she had thrifted or gotten from estate sales. One of my favorite qualities about Elise is her ability to find something gorgeous on FB Marketplace (for a STEAL!!) and style her home. Oddly enough, my last message to her was how much I loved how she was styling her home from a picture of a gathering she was hosting!
She took a huge act of courage and left Jacksonville, moved home to Virginia Beach, and started a new career path recently. To have the rug ripped out from underneath her when she is working tirelessly in every area of her life feels SO unfair.
Please consider donating to help her replenish everything that was in her beautiful home and especially to take the time necessary to grieve from this tragedy. Elise put my crib together for my son when we moved to Jacksonville, which happened to be an extremely difficult time for our family. She deserves so much support and love in return for all of the ways that she has poured into whatever community she is a part of. Let’s lift her up and let her grieve properly with the time and money she needs to get back on her feet again.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! Every bit counts and is appreciated!
