Hi, I'm Elise! I'm a 22 year old transgender woman stuck in the UK and am extremely worried about the increasing rise of transphobia from the public, government, and media here. I don't know how much longer it'll be safe for me to stay here, and I'm desperate to get out as soon as possible.
The problem is I'm working class and unable to work due to mental disability, and my family is a working class family, so I have no money to get out of the country with as I depend on universal credit (that's unemployment welfare for anyone who doesn't know). I'm looking at Ireland due to its proximity to my family and friends, as well as the relative ease with which a British citizen can move to the Republic. I've looked at rent prices and £50,000 should be enough to cover living expenses for a year, which should hopefully be long enough for me to get on Irish welfare or find some other way of staying in Ireland.
I'm aiming to leave by September if possible, and I would greatly appreciate any and all donations towards my migration, as well as any posts encouraging others to donate.
