Elise and Ken Leung's memorial

Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues and Classmates,

2021 has been a devastating year for my brother and I because we lost our beloved parents. Some of you knew that my father passed away early last year but what many of you didn't realize was that my mother would also soon be lost. My brother and I have done the best to soldier on but it has been so difficult for the two of us.

I post this old Christmas picture of my family because it shows a happier time before all of this tragedy came upon us. My family had to help keep my father in a rehabilitation facility because his assisted living facility could not house him. As a result of the Covid and limited choices we decided this was the best care he could received during this part of his treatment. Unfortunately the cost were high and it was $10,000 a month for the final year of his life.

My mother fought for years with a Stage 3 C Ovarian Cancer but she finally succumbed it with the last 2.5 weeks in hospice. Once the cancer has spread to her intestines she was no longer able to eat. She did not feel that being hooked up to a bunch of tubes was anyway to live so she decided that her final days would just be pain management.

I want to thank those of you who helped out and reached out to my brother and I during this time of crisis. WE can't thank you enough.
