Dr. Elisabeth Avila Luevanos, 46, of Waco, Texas, passed away on October 27, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Born on March 12, 1979, in Houston, Texas, Elisabeth lived every day with purpose, energy, and a contagious laugh that could brighten any room.
A proud Baylor Bear and Texas A&M Aggie, Elisabeth earned degrees in finance, education, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. She dedicated her life to helping others learn and grow—serving as a teacher, administrator, and superintendent. Her leadership and compassion touched countless lives, and being selected for the Presidential Leadership Scholars Program was one of her proudest achievements.
Outside of work, Elisabeth brought people together. Whether at the gym, traveling across the world, or spending time with loved ones, she inspired others to live boldly and love deeply. Her big, curly hair and even bigger heart made her unforgettable.
The Elisabeth Avila Luevanos Memorial Education Fund
To honor her legacy, her friends and family have created the Elisabeth Avila Luevanos Memorial Education Fund, which will support students and empower future leaders—continuing the work Elisabeth was so passionate about.
Funds will be managed by Elisabeth’s family and used to support scholarships for Milano ISD students to further their educational dreams.
