My mother-in-law, Elisabeth Ahoba, who was bedridden since 2018 after a medical procedure, passed away on August 15th in Ivory Coast.
The tragedy of being sick in a developing country is that the healthcare system is
very poor and there is no safety net such as medical insurance to alleviate expenses.
Therefore my mother-in-law's long illness depleted the family's resources to which my husband Emmanuel and I contributed greatly. Now that she passed, there is a hard choice to make between the remaining hospital bills and the funeral costs. With time we will deal with the bills. All I'm asking for is to help us give our beloved Meme a proper homegoing.
Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated since we will be traveling within the next few days.
**I'm overwhelmed by the response of those near and far who have donated. When this was created, I didn't know how it would be received as I sent it out one person at a time via text or email. Thank you so much for helping to reach the halfway mark. Please continue to share the link.**
