Twenty one years ago a dream began to grow and blossom. Elisa Stanley, my daughter and friend embarked on a brave adventure of becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist and independent business owner. Setbacks, challenges, injuries, and a recession were merely obstacles to break through to manifesting her Massage Therapy Practice. Many of you have been witness and beneficiaries of her determination and her healing gifts.
And then COVID-19 happened to the world. On March 15th 95% of Elisa's business evaporated when Ordinance of the Governor of Oregon shut hers and countless other businesses of all sizes. We area all aware of the pain and uncertainty this event brings to so many.
Elisa has been prudent and resourceful during these last several months. Paring down her life to the essentials of survival, carefully managing her “emergency fund”, being a lifeline to the world on behalf of her father and I. We have done what we can to support her while she has done our shopping, run our errands, helped us in countless ways. We have all worked together to safely get to her to this point.
Although she has applied for available relief programs, none has been forthcoming. She is still waiting for her $1,200 “stimulus” check! It is apparent that everyone who is in her position cannot depend on relief anytime soon.
And so this is a mother appealing on behalf of my daughter for support to help. No amount is too small a gift or contribution to the survival and reopening of her livelihood. She is facing considerable challenges and expenses in equipment/safety materials in order to meet the new guidelines. The safety and healthy "best practices" necessary for her to reopen her practice are expensive and necessary to protect her clients and her own safety.
We recognize that we are all challenged by this very uncertain time. My request is that you consider a donation, again any amount will help, to keep her going and help with sourcing all the safety precautions she will be putting in place.
