Eli's Superhero Recovery

Donation protected
The last few days have taken everything I have and shown me just how much I have.

Eli suffered a dog attack to the face Friday evening. What happened in a matter of seconds right in front of our eyes will replay in our minds for years.

He had plastic surgery Saturday morning at Doctors Hospital in Augusta to reconstruct his lip and part of his cheek.

When the accident happened, we had no clue from his injuries what type of outcome to expect. The result of the surgery is the best outcome we could have imagined and we are truly grateful.

He's been discharged from the hospital and we are recovering at my mother's house. She's also a nurse, so the wounds are being cared for as best as possible.

With the wound being at the mouth (he has stitches inside his mouth and out), it's difficult for Eli to open his mouth to eat. His diet will be soft foods and drinking through straws for the immediate future.

There will be several follow-up trips to the plastic surgeon in Augusta to monitor his healing. He'll be limited in his activity over the next 2 months to keep him from reopening the wound.

The funds donated will go towards hospital and surgery bills, medications and medical supplies, and ongoing treatment and expenses.

Thank you all for the outpouring of love and concern. This experience has been surreal. Life can change in one second.
