Hi, my name is Elisha Rackard, but most people call me Eli — I’m a proud senior at South Cobb High School (Cobb County), a trombonist, composer, and future music educator. I’m excited to share that I’ve been preparing to attend my dream school — Florida A&M University (FAMU) — and have the honor of marching with the world-renowned Marching 100!
This is a huge milestone for me and my family. I’ll be the first in my immediate family to attend a 4-year university and live on campus, and I’m grateful for every person who has supported, mentored, or encouraged me along the way.
As I begin my journey at FAMU with the Marching 100, I’m investing in a professional-level trombone—the essential instrument for any serious music major. I’ve been grateful to develop my skills on a school loaner in high school, but now I’ve outgrown that student instrument and cannot take it with me. To continue advancing and succeed at FAMU, I need my own professional trombone.
While I’m awaiting scholarship opportunities to cover room and board, I want to be fully prepared with my own instrument so I can focus on excelling without added worry. High-quality trombones come at a significant cost, and your support will help me be fully equipped as I pursue my calling to become a band director and inspire future generations.
If you’ve ever believed in me, poured into me, prayed for me, or just want to support a young musician chasing his God-given purpose, any amount is appreciated — no gift is too small. And if you can’t give, please take a moment to share this link to help spread the word.
Thank you for being part of my story.
With gratitude,
Eli
