Help Elio and Family in battling cancer

The Little-Frey family's world has suddenly flipped upside down, since they received the news that their 2-year old son Elio has cancer. It is a rare form of cancer that begins in the liver, and Elio has a malignant tumour. After an MRI, it's been revealed that the cancer has spread. Elio's course of care involves at least 3 months of chemotherapy, and surgery. He will be going through an extremely rough process of being weakened and made ill from his treatments. They are hopeful, but the stark reality is that his prognosis is not known at this time. [We will be posting occasional updates on Elio's condition, and posting new photos, so refer back to this page if you would like an update on how Elio is doing, as things unfold over time.]
Elio's condition requires the family to remain in Vancouver for treatment at Children's Hospital, for an extended period of time, causing the family to relocate to Vancouver from Salt Spring Island. The reason we are raising money is to offset the family's costs of living while supporting Elio in Vancouver.
Ben has been forced to leave his two jobs for the next 4 months at the very least: both parents need to be present so that someone is always with Elio, while the other has their hands full caring for 3 month old baby Sascha.
They have been provided accommodation at Ronald McDonald House, but will incur costs from living away from home for so long. Ben and Brette are also under the financial pressure of maintaining payments and bills from life back home in Salt Spring. Plus, they could be facing unknown future costs associated with long term treatment.
We want Ben and Brette to be able to focus on keeping Elio as comfortable as possible, and not worry about mounting debt during this period. There are other ways of supporting them, but for those who have the means to contribute a donation, no matter how large or small, it will go towards some relief for them.
