eliminate preventable sudden cardiac arrest

I'm running the 2023 NYC Marathon on 11/5/23 in an effort to bring awareness to, and raise money for, the charity "Who We Play For."

Who We Play For's mission is to eliminate preventable cardiac death in young athletes by offering affordable EKG heart screenings to kids around the country. Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is the leading cause of death on school campuses today, and only 10% of those who experience a SCA event survive it.

My girlfriend Kelli is a part of the lucky 10%. After fainting at her high school while walking to class in 2018, Kelli experienced multiple SCA events and was resuscitated each time by fast-acting athletic trainers and paramedics. Kelli had an underlying condition that was completely unaware of, and the fact she survived is a miracle. Now, Kelli and her family work with Who We Play For to make sure that preventable cardiac deaths are actually prevented, through early detection with an affordable, 5-minute EKG test.

In honor of Kelli, I'm running the NYC Marathon to raise money for Who We Play For, with the goal of eliminating unnecessary cardiac death in our youth. Thank you for anything you can contribute, I sincerely appreciate it! Every dollar helps to screen kids and save lives.
