"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." - Aesop

On December 14th, 2016, my 3 year old nephew, Elijah was brought to Children's Hospital of Atlanta (CHOA). An MRI showed a tumor on the cerebellum of the brain which had been causing him to vomit for no apparent reason and to lose his balance now and then.

While the tumor was operable and that surgery has happened, we learned that the preliminary diagonsis is Medulloblastoma - a fast-growing, high-grade tumor. It is the most common of the embryonal tumors—tumors that arise from “emybryonal” or “immature” cells at the earliest stage of their development.

The exact cause for these tumors is still unknown. A pathology report will narrow this tumor down to an exact type.

While Elijah is a strong little boy and right now is recovering well, he will face a few more battles. He will need another MRI to determine if this tumor has spread. A spinal tap to see if any cells have fixed themselves to the spine. Further treatment, be it chemo or radiation will be necessary as well.

The monies raised here will help my brother and his wife to pay some of their medical bills as they receive them.
We are not a family that normally asks for help, but we are reaching out to friends and family now in a time of need.
