I hate asking for literally anything, especially like this but I didn’t really know where else to turn to. I’ll have to give you the full story here. Hey there! I’m Elijah Gannaway, I’m a passionate filmmaker, photographer and creative who moved from Cincinnati to Los Angeles to pursue work out here in the west. A few months after moving here I was luck to start working on film sets via word of mouth and connections I had through my time at Ball State University.

On March 25th 2022 I unfortunately ruptured my right leg Patella in my knee while at a park disabling me from working/walking properly/ or even driving. At the time I was working TV show but once I was injured my income went out the window and was replace and medical bills on top of medical bills. I was switching my insurance at the time too so all of those numbers began to pile up.

To add to my conundrum; My landlord at time was scamming my roommates and I as well as the owner of the building I stay at and up charging every housemate 300-400 dollars more than we should have been paying for our living space. During month of April I couldn’t drive at all (I was Uber eating for extra money to pay this conman of landlord) and wasn’t able to get my MRI until the end of the month. I applied to about 25 jobs to work remotely and got interviewed for 6 and couldn’t get a job. I’m reworking my recent work and reapplying.

Once May came around I was about to hop back on sets again but the frequency of film work I was getting dropped considering not everyone wanted to take a risk on a guy with a Patella Knee injury (I haven’t been injured on set).

August rolls around and my physicians aren’t getting back to me about when I can get my leg treated even though I’ve tried reaching out and they tell me they will call next week after contacting people etc — truth about my landlord comes to light with the property owner and he gets him off the property. A few weeks later, one of my roommates move out and my remaining roommate and I have our rent lowered to what it supposed to be but have to cover the extra room as it is empty, an extra 1,000 between the two of us

This GoFundMe would help me get back on my feet. I could fix my knee and begin to climb out of this medical debt and the bills that piled up while I was getting scammed out of extra 350 a month for 9 months. This GoFundme will help me get my self together so I can better help and serve my friends family and community. I’m not expecting to reach the goal but literally anything will help.
