Elijah's Kiser's trip to Youth World Championships
Donation protected
My name is Elijah Kiser. I have lived in Boone my whole life, along with six siblings and our parents who met at Appalachian State University. I was introduced to bouldering soon after Center 45 Climbing and Fitness opened, in 2016. Instantly hooked, I started spending most of my free time swinging around on plastic grips, and learning from people in Boone’s climbing community. Because hard bouldering was what I enjoyed more than other climbing disciplines, I progressed through grades quickly, climbing v11 within a year, v12 in two, and v13 in three. In January of 2019 I competed at the Youth Bouldering National Championships, in Bend, Oregon as a part of Center 45’s youth climbing team, and took first place in the male junior category.
Winning the Youth National Championship awarded me the invitation to compete as a part of the USA Youth National Team at Youth World’s Championship in Arco, Italy. This August, I plan to travel to Arco, Italy, to compete with the best youth climbers in the world. I am looking for sponsors to help me accomplish this goal. I am super excited to travel half way across the planet to represent not just the US, but Boone, NC.
