UPDATE - As of today (6/23) Elijah remains in the hospital. They are continuing to be hopeful of his situation but the extent of his injuries is still unknown. They are hopeful he will regain all his abilities in time. His family are raising funds in anticipation of Elijah receiving a therapy dog. They hope to be able to apply and pay for one without having to wait for grant programs to approve. This process could take up to 2 years. Please keep Elijah in your thoughts and prayers. He needs them now more than ever.

UPDATE- As of today (6/2) - Yesterday Elijah woke up on his own, he is able to give hospital staff the thumbs up and gave short answers to questions. He is able to breath on his own. They are reducing the medications he is on so they can assess and further understand any permanent damage he may have. His upper body is responding to stimulation. We are optimistic that he woke up on his own after being in a medically induced coma for over a week. We hope his young body had time to heal itself in some aspect. He will have many medical bills and will need physical therapy so we continue to raise funds for this loving, thoughtful, caring young man. I added new pictures of him to show what a genuinely nice young man he is! We loved him when he worked here and wish the absolute best for him! We are getting cards with pictures of the dogs on them so he can have them in his room. He absolutely loves animals!

Our former Employee, Elijah, was in a terrible car accident last week. Our long time pet parents will remember him for his friendliness, smile and love of all the dogs. He was a passenger in a vehicle and was ejected from the car. He is currently at Shock Trauma in a medically induced coma . He has breaks in his back and the medical team feels he will have some sort of damage to his physical movement ability. He has a very long road ahead of him but, we are hopeful for him. If you can help us raise funds to help cover his medical costs and physical therapy needs as he recovers we would be grateful.
He was a great employee and had left in the fall to return to high school during the day. He was hoping to graduate high school soon. He had been going to night school while he worked with us and was trying very hard to do well in school. He is a very nice young man and has a lot of people wishing the very best for him.
We ask for your thoughts and prayers as his body tries its best to heal and we will keep you updated of any changes in his diagnosis and recovery.
Thank you all in advance.
